DUBLIN, IRELAND – 22 April 2009 - Afilias, a global provider of internet infrastructure services, today announced that it is a sponsor of Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and its BIND 10 development effort. Afilias joins other industry leaders as a financial sponsor and member of a steering committee which will oversee the multi-year development project to ensure that the next version of the BIND Domain Name Server architecture is designed to meet the needs of the global DNS community.
"In just the last decade we have seen the Internet transformed from a utilitarian tool to the life blood of business, culture and communications," said Ram Mohan, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Afilias. "The DNS is the foundation upon which the Internet rests. Afilias is pleased to support this initiative to make the DNS be more flexible, resilient and secure to meet the demands of the next wave of Internet applications and technologies."
