Afilias’ Release Manager leads, manages, implements, and coordinates the various software application release, deployment, and change processes. They will own the Service Transition Lifecycle and manage most of the Service Transition processes. The Release Manager will work with technology management to improve processes, practices, and toolsets associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating our various SaaS applications and environments.

Role and Responsibilities:
Implementing and managing the release processes for the progression of applications in the development, test, staging, and production environments in accordance with ITIL/industry best practices
Building and managing the release calendar
Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities
Work with PMO to communicate release details and schedules to the business as required
Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
Establishes and maintains the release policy which governs the release process and details release categories, activities, roles and responsibilities, etc.
Champions and promotes the benefits of release management and ITSM processes
Identifies & drives implementation of activities that improve efficiency and effectiveness of these processes
Oversees release planning and execution of release plans
Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and go/no-go reviews
Lead and coordinate the go-live activities including execution of the deployment plans and checklists
Be available during non-business hours to support release execution
Responsible to support initiatives associated with the integration of release management process into the change, incident, problem, service continuity, and configuration management processes

University degree in IT, computer science, or related discipline and 4yrs related experience
5yrs experience in IT Service Management functions
4yrs in a leadership role in a mixed business and IT technical team
2yrs experience as a project lead
Thorough understanding of Release Management, with proven experience
An overall control-oriented focus to ensure processes and service are compliant and risk-averse
Demonstrated ability to form strong alliances with those outside your immediate team
Strong customer service mindset with the ability to appropriately balance risk with service delivery expectations
Experience facilitating cross-functional meetings
Demonstrated knowledge of the ITIL framework (ITIL certifications desired)
Familiarity with ServiceNow, Remedy, or other similar tools
