As a Security Data Analyst, you will make an impact by directly reducing the amount of spam, malware, and other malicious content on the internet, resulting in fewer cases of cybercrime. You will also directly help the company with up-keeping our reputation in the industry.

The everyday challenge for a Security Data Analyst at Afilias is a cunning, multi-faceted adversary, who is watching, adapting, and responding to the analysts’ efforts. Your job will consist of actively analyzing external and internal data sources for patterns and inconsistencies, in order to identify trends and relationships of data related to spam, phishing, WHOIS records, or IP addresses. In addition, you will contribute to our internal business intelligence, security audits and risk analysis, and recommend best practices for protection against domain name abuse. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other organizations and individuals within the internet security community as well as law enforcement involved in combating cyber-security threats.

Requirements

• Experience in working in business intelligence, compliance, data analysis, internet security, or other relevant field
• Experience with extracting data, SQL queries, and producing analytical reports
• Strong data analytics skills to identify unexpected patterns and occurrences
• Creativity approach to problem solving
• Professional integrity, discretion with respect to maintaining confidentiality
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a technology or criminal justice field
• Familiarity with DNS and web technologies a plus
